Everybody wants to rank high in the search engines for their target keywords. Depending on the competition of the chosen niche and the particular keyword phrase this may not be an easy task. This is especially true if you have a fairly new website. It is definitely something to be working for but what if I told you that you can get ranked for highly competitive keyword phrases in only 30 to 60 days without doing a tremendous amount of link building?

What if I told you that you could not only show up for your target keyword searches but that you could dominate the top 10 within your niche. Imagine someone searching on your target keyword phrase and having 4 out of the top 10 websites that are ranking be yours.

One of the best ways to achieve high organic rankings very quickly is through the use of Web 2.0 blog platforms. I'm referring to free blogging sites like Blogger, Tumblr, WordPress. Medium and even Facebook notes. And I'm not talking about using these platforms and having them hosted on your own domain. That is possible with some of these services but I am recommending hosting your blog directly on these primary free domains.

These blog sites tend to have a page rank of seven or higher and a high TrustRank. They rank really well. You can literally put up a blog on Blogger or Tumblr, optimize it for your target niche and post a handful of articles and be ranking within days. This is the true value of these sites. You often hear these web 2.0 blog sites dismissed by SEO professionals because they will say they have no back linking value due to no follow tags. That may be true.

A few years ago you were able to build some powerful back links using these blog sites. They are not nearly as effective today for back-links but what is effective to simply building websites on these platforms for the purpose of ranking those sites and pulling in traffic. This can allow you to dominate the search engines effectively thereby achieving multiple top 10 listings. You can then use these sites to build your list or drive traffic on over to your primary website.

Blogger is still my top choice for building your first blog. You can almost be guaranteed that your blog will start ranking within days. You will be getting high-quality organic traffic. Focus on posting interesting content and mix it up with some embedded YouTube videos and other content and the traffic will come.
